Italian sporting car manufacturer, Alfa Romeo, is bringing more racing flavour to its UK sportscar range with the addition of a new, limited series model – the Alfa GTV Cup – later this month.
Named after the race-bred, competition-led Alfa GTV Cup models which contested the Italian one-make championship for Alfa Romeo owners, and which were run by Alfa Romeo dealers, the 154 mph Alfa GTV Cup is powered by the company’s award-winning all-aluminium 218 bhp 3.0 V6 40HC 24v engine, matched to a 6-speed gearbox. Capable of reaching 62 mph from rest in
6.8 seconds, this new version shares the same sporting spirit and appearance as its racing namesake.
With only a limited number – all in Alfa Red – coming to the UK, the Alfa GTV Cup sports unique front and rear spoilers, front wheel arch side panels, side skirts and special 17" dark grey alloy wheels. Sports seats, leather steering wheel and panels, plus a special central console with numbered plaque complement the sporting interior.
The price of the Alfa GTV Cup is £26,995 OTR.
The arrival of the Alfa GTV Cup highlights a hugely successful year for Alfa Romeo in the UK, with sales up 84 per cent year-on-year, and the company’s highest market share since 1980. With demand continuing to rise steeply – sales of the Alfa 156 are some 120 per cent up on the same period last year – Alfa Romeo is currently on-target for its best-ever UK sales year.
