Citroën is expanding the appeal of its C1 city car with the introduction of three new models – 3 and 5-door versions of an exciting new special edition, the C1 Airplay, and a 3-door version of the range topping Rhythm model. To be launched at the British International Motor Show in London this July, the new models will add to the thousands of C1s already sold in the UK, in a small car sector that has grown to account for a third of all cars sold.
The funky looking 1.0i petrol C1 Airplay comes with a stylish 1GB black iPod nano and integrated docking station that allows music to be played through the car head unit and speakers. Specially designed to appeal to the young-at-heart, this new special edition costs £6,495* for the 3-door and £7,145* for the 5-door version.
Furthering its appeal to buyers who want to stand out from the crowd, the C1 Airplay can be personalised with the option of unique, eye-catching side decals, costing from just £70, while the vibrant red and black exterior colours are complemented on the inside by red high gloss or ‘chrome’ interior trim. Based on the 1.0i Vibe, the C1 Airplay is additionally equipped with remote control central locking and front electric windows.
The other new addition to the Citroën C1 line-up is a great value 3-door version of the 1.0i Rhythm. On sale for £6,875*, the C1 Rhythm features an impressively big list of standard equipment for such a little car, including ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Cornering Stability Control, remote central locking, four airbags, power steering, MP3 compatible CD player, front electric windows and a spherical rev counter.
All C1 models are inexpensive to own and run thanks to low recommended retail prices, low fuel consumption figures of over 60mpg on the combined cycle, low CO2 emissions of just 109g/km, as well as a lowest possible 1E insurance group rating. On top of this, the C1 comes with a 4-star EuroNCAP rating for adult occupant protection providing extra peace of mind where safety is concerned.
