NEW CITROËN RELAY

NEW CITROËN RELAY

The new premium specification Citroën Relay sets the standard in the 3.0 – 4.0 tonne gvw sector, bringing the key benefits of premium quality, intelligent design and advanced technology. Ensuring that it outperforms its rivals, new Relay boasts a wide range of innovative, industry-first features:-

- it is the only van equipped with Trafficmaster Smartnav GPS Satellite Navigation and Trackstar

stolen vehicle tracking systems as standard

- it comes with extended, up to 25,000 mile, service intervals

- it is the widest panel van in its sector (between wheel arches and maximum internal width)

- it has the lowest rear loading height and is one of the first panel vans to be offered with optional self levelling/lowering rear suspension

- it offers exceptional standards of driver comfort

- it has low insurance groupings (ABI groups 5, 6, 7)

- it has strong residual values

Robert Handyside, Citroën UK’s commercial vehicles operations manager, comments, “The unique, standard fitment of satnav and stolen vehicle tracking in new Relay vans is a major benefit for operators who may otherwise have to pay up to £2,000 + VAT for satnav only on rival models. This, together with new Relay’s premium quality, intelligent design and advanced technology, clearly positions it at the top of the market. Add to this top-of-Class residual values, low insurance groupings, extended service intervals and class-leading warranty cover and you have a premium package that provides real-world benefits for UK commercial vehicle operators.”

The new Relay range includes panel vans, window vans, combis, chassis cabs and chassis crew cabs. It is available with a choice of no less than four gross vehicle weights, three roof heights and four lengths. Relay panel van load volumes range from 8.0cu.m through to a massive 17.0cu.m, with payloads ranging up to 1995kg.

New Relay panel vans also boast the widest internal load width and lowest loading sill height (530mm) in their class, and have internal load deck lengths of up to 4070mm.

The impressive levels of standard equipment offered on new Relay include a full range of safety and security features. These include ABS, driver’s airbag, immobiliser and deadlocks. In addition, all models have remote central locking, electrically operated/heated mirrors and can be specified with traction control and many other safety features.

The new Relay range offers an all-new Euro IV HDi diesel power choice of 2.2HDi 100hp (74kW), 2.2HDi 120hp (88kW) and range-topping 3.0HDi 160hp (115kW) engines. These advanced HDi diesels, which can all be run on up to 30 per cent bio-diesel, offer the benefits of exceptional fuel economy, high torque over a wide part of the engine’s rev range, and excellent performance. The 2.2HDi 100hp engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox, while the other power units have six-speed gearboxes.

Citroën is also offering new Relay with a range of practical, competitively priced, factory fit options including a self levelling rear suspension, which includes a feature that allows the rear deck height to be lowered by 70mm, air conditioning, driver’s suspension seat and many other comfort and efficiency boosting features.

Priced from £15,150 + VAT + delivery, new Relay is competitively priced, well-specified and one of the most technologically advanced vehicles available. It takes over from the previous model which, in the UK, has sold strongly and in increasing volumes right up to the time production ceased. New Relay will build upon the success of its predecessor, which played a key role in establishing Citroën’s position as a major player in the UK light commercial vehicle sector.
