Next-Generation SUT Concept sets direction for future Honda production truck model
TORRACE, CA., Dec. 11, 2003 – American Honda today released a sketch of the Honda SUT Concept vehicle, scheduled to make its worldwide debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 4, 2004. This new and innovative truck concept will provide the world with its first glimpse of the direction Honda will take with a future production sport-utility truck model.
The Honda SUT Concept is a next-generation truck concept designed to meet the changing tastes of consumers purchasing trucks to accommodate their active, outdoor-oriented lifestyles. Taking advantage of its unibody underpinnings, the Honda SUT Concept combines the utility of an open cargo bed with the interior space and functionality of an SUV and adds traditional Honda strengths including superior ergonomics, innovative packaging, fun-to-drive character and legendary durability, quality and reliability.
In keeping with Honda’s commitment to environmental and safety leadership, the Honda SUT Concept also sets a new standard for fuel efficiency, low emissions and safety performance in the light-duty truck segment.
Additional details of the concept and Honda’s future production plans will be provided at the vehicle’s unveiling next month in Detroit.
