A unique Jaguar X-TYPE took to the 'catwalk' this week at a celebration of fashion and style, organised in support of Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Personalised by British fashion designer, Sir Paul Smith, the X-TYPE was auctioned on behalf of the charity in the presence of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales at it's fashion!, a spectacular celebrity party held at Waddeson Manor, Buckinghamshire. Guests at the event included Kylie Minogue, Sir Elton John, Jaguar Formula One driver Eddie Irvine and many of the world's leading fashion designers, but it was City banker Zoe Appleyard and her friend Maya Schonburg who put forward the final bid of £40,000. They are now the proud owners of the one-of-a-kind Jaguar, which features Sir Paul Smith's signature stripes running the length of the body.
it's fashion! brought Jaguar together with Vogue magazine as hosts of the event, which raised in total more than £200,000 for Macmillan Cancer Relief. Jaguar chairman Dr Wolfgang Reitzle, said: "Jaguar is synonymous with style, so our involvement in it’s fashion! with Vogue is very fitting. We are also delighted to raise significant funds for Macmillan Cancer Relief by creating a unique X-TYPE with Sir Paul Smith."
Commenting on 'his' car, Sir Paul Smith said: "It was fantastic to work on the Jaguar X-TYPE project. Its simple, clean lines work beautifully with my idea of the unique Paul Smith stripes running front to back."
