ŠKODA FABIA NAMED AUTO EXPRESS’ BEST SUPERMINI FOR THE SECOND YEAR

ŠKODA FABIA NAMED AUTO EXPRESS’ BEST SUPERMINI FOR THE SECOND YEAR

The Škoda Fabia has been named Best Supermini for the second year in a row at the Auto Express New Car Honours held in London on 19 June 2001.

The Fabia hatch won out over strong competition from the Volkswagen Polo and the Peugeot 206 to retain the award for the outstanding supermini, adding this to its growing list of accolades.

In selecting the Fabia, Auto Express said, "Visually the Fabia has a compact, yet confident, stance which marks it out from most of its class rivals…The build quality and functionality are clear vote winners. Five-door access is excellent, while front and rear seats offer comfort and visibility rarely found in cars of far bigger proportions…Life in the driver’s seat borders on near perfection."

The Škoda Fabia continues to set the standard in the supermini segment, which accounts for 20 per cent of all new cars sold in the UK. Fabia hatch prices range from £7,685 to £12,055 and, combined with Fabia’s excellent build quality, reliability and unbeatable equipment packages, means great Škoda value. Added to that are Škoda’s 3-year unlimited mileage warranty, 10-year anti-corrosion warranty,3-year paint warranty and a 3-year roadside assistance package.

More and more new car buyers are choosing Fabia for just these reasons. Fabia hatchback sales reached 11,266 in 2000, and 9,085 have already been sold in the first half of 2001. These growing sales, along with the Best Supermini award from Auto Express, confirm that the Škoda has taken its place among the best in the industry.
