When Scots look for luxury, they need look no further than the Škoda Superb. The new flagship of the Škoda range has today been named the Scottish Luxury Car of the Year 2002 by The Association of Scottish Motoring Writers.
Following months of evaluation and deliberation, the members of The Association of Scottish Motoring Writers hosted this year’s awards ceremony, the fifth annual event, at the famous St. Andrews Bay Hotel in Scotland.
Graeme Giles, President of The Association of Scottish Motoring Writers, presented the award and commented on the Superb’s success, "The Superb displays all of the strengths of the Škoda brand including excellent value for money and class-leading build quality. However, the Superb was the obvious winner for the luxury car title because it caters for all tastes with its large range of engines and, most importantly, limousine levels of accommodation at family car prices."
Against fierce competition from the Renault Vel Satis and the Mercedes Benz E-Class, this title is a tremendous achievement for the Škoda Superb. It is also a testament to the philosophy of the Czech design team, who always ensure that the comfort of the driver and passengers is of paramount importance.
